Salt Lake City Landlord Tenant Dispute Lawyer

Serving Summit County and Other Areas: Commercial Lease Attorney

At the most basic of levels, landlords offer property to renters, both commercial and residential, in return for regular payments upon which their business depends. They rely on tenants to honor agreements; at the same time tenants expect landlords to uphold their end of the bargain. Landlord-tenant disputes can arise when either landlords or tenants breach the terms of the agreement.

I am attorney Robert L. Brinton, and I am licensed to practice law in both Utah and New York. My law firm is based in Salt Lake City, although my practice centered for many years in New York, where I tackled challenging legal matters for landlords and tenants in one of the most demanding cities in the world.

Offering a Wide Range of Legal Services

Whether you are a large residential landlord involved in a tenant dispute, a manufacturer closing a large factory that needs an early lease termination or you want to upgrade a building for commercial use, I can guide you through to the resolution of your legal matter.

Seeking to Reach Agreements in Your Best Interest

My goal is to prepare your case by carefully analyzing and interpreting your contracts and lease agreements. I will focus on gaining an understanding of the facts and will apply the law to help the opposing side realize and fulfill its obligations or agree to negotiate in a way that works for you.

Litigation as a Last Resort

I have had a great deal of success in resolving clients' legal matters through negotiation. I rarely need to resort to litigation on behalf of my clients. In my opinion, litigation takes the control out of the hands of the client and the lawyer and puts it in the hands of a judge. It is also less timely and much more costly.

Comprehensive Landlord Tenant Legal Advocacy and Counsel

Whether you are dealing with relatively straightforward issues such as drafting agreements or terminating a lease for lack of payment, or dealing with the complexities of a petition before a zoning board or potential liability regarding an asbestos contamination, I will bring more than 40 years of successful experience to your individual legal matter. I am committed to resolving the issues in a timely, comprehensive manner.
